The Department of Physiology in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is internationally recognized as a leader in the field of physiology. We are especially strong in the areas of membrane biophysics, neurophysiology, and cardiovascular research. There is a need for physiologists to provide a bridge from the advances of molecular biology and genetics to an understanding of more complex systems in health and disease. Our faculty members are at the forefront of modern physiological research, ranging from basic to clinical science.
